A work party took place on a fine sunny morning at very overgrown Flowersbrook with Isle of Wight Green Gym. Green Gym worked hard to clear the stream and cut back reeds on either side. A small team from VEF concentrated on the pond area, removing weeds and cutting back overgrown vegetation. Three hours of hard work made a lot of difference

On the afternoon of 29th, Mike spent 1.5hours cutting all the shrubs and bushes down to size using a long-reach hedgetrimmer. The following day a group of five volunteers picked up all the cuttings, performed the finishing touches, strimmed the long grass and cleared all the crazy paving of weeds.
It is now six years since we repainted the shelter at La Falaise so we prompted Island Roads to do the job this time. They agreed it looked tatty and work is currently underway.
