Please recall that the dinosaur labyrinth was sadly destroyed as a result of exploratory works carried out on the western cliffs by the Environment Agency.  Andrew O’Connell, working for their contractor Volker Stevin, went the extra mile and used a high-resolution GPS system to record the location of 240 points on the labyrinth before work started.

Over the past few months grass has recovered and on 31st July the Environment Agency kindly sent Andrew back to the island to help with the task of re-marking the labyrinth – which has now been restored.  Many thanks to the Environment Agency and Volker Stevin for their help.

This year we decided to contract the task of restoring and planting flowers in the troughs on the railings to Busy Bee Garden Centre, in a trial.  Busy Bee replaced rusty brackets – fitting new ones to level each trough.  They installed wicks to aid water retention, populated the troughs with beautiful plants and refitted them on 11th June.  They look spectacular.
